corporations are constantly trying to discover if employees should be micromanaged or run their own course with very little supervision. There is definitely a balance between the two because employees
in organizations have to be held accountable for their actions but at the same time if the boss is constantly looking over their shoulder then often times they can grow
apathetic and even disgruntled in their line of work. Everyday, managers at both big and small corporations have to decide whether to intervene if things are running smoothly. For example,
several car and aviation companies implement what is called the just-in-time business technique where they strive to increase profits by reducing inventory and overhead. Basically, according to JIT, inventory is
waste. Therefore, companies who decide to adapt to this model must make the gradual change of reducing inventory. However, this does not just mean throwing out old items. It must
be transferred into the entire business model. This includes the way statistics are kept, how they engineer future parts, and production management is handled. The idea behind JIT, or lean
manufacturing, is to have the supplies a firm needs at the exact moment that they are needed. While it is not implemented by many companies, JIT techniques are an excellent
