links individuals not only with low-cost airfares, but with rental cars and hotels as well. Another possibility might be the hotel industry itself, in that JetBlue could partner with a
Hilton or Marriott, and offer low room rates to those who fly regularly on JetBlue. The positives about JetBlue potentially entering
the online travel industry is that the Internet opens many markets for the company, and more people are gaining confidence booking online (Expedia). During 2007, it was estimated that approximately
40% of those booking travel information did so online (Expedia). The World Travel & Tourism Councils research also pointed out that worldwide tourism is anticipated to increase to more than
$13 trillion by 2017 (Expedia). Jet Blue already has a brand name and a website, so this would work well for the company. It could partner with rental car companies
in this endeavor. The barriers to entry are fairly low in this particular scenario. All thats really needed is a website (which
JetBlue has), a reputation (which it also has) and a decent brand name, which is something the company already has. The costs associated with running something like this would be
fairly low as well. The only downside would be if the partner rental car company had some problems. Such a situation could end up tarnishing the JetBlue name if this
