but then they complain that they are not cooperative in respect to implementing accommodations and modifications. They want to say that they are able to handle inclusion, but the reality
is that they are not. Other teachers admit that there is a problem, and take things a step further. They believe that all mentally retarded students should be in
a closed classrooms with no inclusion and their stubborn nature makes it very hard for the administration to implement appropriate policies. What to do with retarded students is a difficult
predicament. On one hand, mainstreaming is generally less costly and exposes children to real life. The least restrictive environment is desirable. At the same time, retarded children can hold their
classmates back and often do not get the attention they require. Ordinarily teachers are simply not trained to take on the additional burden. Each view is at odds. But there
may be a compromise. In Peter Senges (2000) Schools that Learn, one section is on the Classroom. Within the section comes the idea that everyone is unique and different and
that there is no such thing as a regular child. To that end, one might suggest a solution for the dilemma is to keep inclusion as a goal, but make
sure that all teachers are trained to consider each and every students unique abilities. Although the teachers who do not want to have retarded students as part of their classrooms
have a point, in part, their position is attributable to laziness. Even those who support inclusion but do not follow through are guilty. All teachers should make an effort to
see each and every child as unique with unique needs. Further, all teachers should be trained in special education so that inclusion can be a decided reality. Another problem
