is a poetic equation in those titles that the author clearly intends to make. Newbigin explains what the Greek word logos means and how that meaning had to change
if one believed in Jesus Christ as the Savior. Instead of its typical meaning, logos related to Christ through the telling of His story and the fact that His flesh
became the Word. The author continues by explaining that the Incarnation had to be accepted as not a likeness, but as Jesus Himself. That belief is the foundation of Christianity
and that belief requires one to have faith in the Word. The belief in this event as fact established a new starting point for thinking and discussing. The author reports
that these points are stated repeatedly in the Gospel of John. This new starting point led to another important fact, which is that "ultimate reality was no longer unknowable;
it was available to use in the person of Jesus Christ" (Newbigin, 1995, p. 7). Christians are faithful to the new reality which leads to knowledge of the Trinity.
Newbigin (1995) makes an interesting observation when he cites Bonhoeffers statement that "only the obedient believe, and those who believe are obedient" (p. 14). Belief is equal to faith because
Christians believe facts that cannot be empirically proven. That is, in fact, the definition of faith. A manager who is a Believer will act differently than non-believing managers. The Believer
attempts to follow the Word of God and becomes a much more humane manager. In fact, this type of manager may adopt Servant Leadership tenets as their core leadership style.
