to become involved in various aspects of society (mercantile, education, etc.) and ultimately rally for change; once this occurs, foundations and principles of long-established policies, beliefs and operations begin to
crumble under the pressure put forth by those who are not even part of the Jews historic struggle. As Shohamy et al (no date provided) point out, the only
