a pluralism in its very legal foundations? Participate in an informed discussion. Begin by identifying the four legal schools and the six correct bodies of Hadith. It is evident
that with four different schools of law and six different bodies of Hadith, none of them have an exclusive claim to the truth. Nonetheless, Muslims have admitted that there is
a sort of pluralism in its legal foundations and many different interpretations and precedents have been established based on certain aspects of Islamic law. Under Sunni tradition, there are four
legal schools of thought. They are the Hanafi School, the Maliki School, the Shafii School and the Hanabali School. They are each named after different individuals and they are all
practiced in different parts of the world. In addition, the six bodies of the Hadith are the Bukhari, Muslim, Ibne Maja, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi and Nasai (Hussain, 2008). As mentioned
earlier, each school of thought and each collective body of the Hadith are similar but none of them have an exclusive claim to the Islamic truth as seen by Muslims.
