name Islam is taken from "salam," an Arabic word that is often believed to mean "peace" (Robinson, 2005). But, it seems that a better translation for the word would
be "submission" (Robinson, 2005). "Muslim is an Arabic word that refers to a person who submits themselves to the will of God" (Robinson, 2005). It should be noted that many
people today, Muslims, are quite offended when people call terrorists "Muslim terrorists" or "Islamic terrorists" because the true believers see these "phrases" as being oxymorons (Robinson, 2005).
"Most religious historians view Islam as having been founded in 622 CE by Muhammad the Prophet...The religion started in Mecca, when the angel Jibril (a.k.a.
Jibreel; Gabriel in English) read the first revelation to Muhammad (pbuh)" (Robinson, 2005). In these respects Islam is considered the youngest religion (Robinson, 2005).
Most, or many, believers hold to the truths that Islam was in existence prior to the birth of Muhammad, that Islam goes back to the birth of
the world, and that Muhammad was the last, as well as the greatest, of the Prophets, of which Jesus was one (Robinson, 2005). And they believe in Allah, who
is the One True God (Robinson, 2005). In relationship to their beliefs or practices one of the most important involves Five Pillars. The first of the Pillars is "the declaration
