When considering healthcare it can be argued that many other countries have a healthcare system, that is a single of limited way in which healthcare is provided, this may include those countries, such as the UK, that have universal healthcare systems. Healthcare in the US has been documented as being the most expensive in the world by the OECD (2000). This is in terms off overall cost as well as the cost per capital spent on healthcare, which equated to $4,178 per capital in 1998 (OECD, 2000). With this level of expenditure it may also be expected that the country also has the best system of healthcare. However, when considering healthcare in the US it may be argued that this is not necessarily a system. System can be defined as a "an assemblage or combination of things or parts forming a complex or unitary whole", and healthcare can be defined as "1.
