of a plesiosaur was supposedly found in the loch (Radford, 2003). For many years one of the theories has been that the Loch Ness Monster was the descendent of the plesiosaur. This find made national and international but it was unfounded, as although the fossil was genuine, it was found to have originated somewhere else as it was embedded in limestone that was not native to the area (Radfrod, 2003). However, this failure, along with the failure of an investigation by the BBC using sonar to try and locate a monster has not quelled belief that many have in the monsters existence. Around the Loch the economy is based on the belief that the monster does, or may exist. It is due to the belief and the economic reliance that there has been anger at research which claims the monster cannot exist due to the need for a colony that would be self supporting and the application of ideas such as population theory to the matter. However this has not stopped the belief in the idea that at one time the monster did exit, or that it may still exist and be hiding. Reports are still gained fro potential sightings but proof has not emerged, If we look at the idea that has become popular in the 1990s of the learning organisation, this appears to be akin to the Loch Ness Monster; there are many potential sightings, but the actual beast has not yet been identified and pinpointed. There is little disagreement regarding the concept, but the realisation of the concept appears to be very difficult. 2.
