people love them; many do not. This paper discuses the question of whether or not Walmart is good for America. Discussion The average person, when asked whether Walmart is good
for America, might answer that its good for people who need work, its good for the community, it gives the local economy a boost and pleases the average consumer. On
the other hand, employees are disgruntled and small businesses are upset when a new Walmart opens, knowing that they may soon have to close their doors. Walmarts aim is
to keep prices low for their shoppers; in fact, it seems to be something of a "holy grail" for the company. In order to do this, the chain may "saturate"
an area, opening more than one store. Again this means lower prices for shopper. But what about the idea that Walmart is little better than a sweatshop with no benefits,
low pay and conditions that lead to depression? It appears that there may be some truth to the allegations that Walmart has lost its sense of values and fairness, which
is why it is a prime target for unionization. However the companys position appears to be that it will fight tooth and nail, even close stores, before it will unionize.
