will argue, without weakness, that organic farming is natural and is the way to a better future for all people. They will argue that it provides a better product for
the consumer, that it is a way in which we can do little or no damage to the environment, and a way in which we can feed the growing hungry
in the world. They also argue that it is far healthier for us than conventionally grown foods which use pesticides. For many traditional agriculturalists, the wave towards organically grown food
is nothing more than a fad that is perhaps even harmful in the greater scheme of things. Not only does organic farming present consumers with lies, but also ultimately threatens
to harm the environment more than conventional methods of growing food. The following paper argues that organic farming is not what it seems, and that it is a form of
farming that can do far more damage to people and the environment than conventional farming methods. Organic Farming? One of the largest arguments in favor of organic farming is
the use, or lack, of pesticides. Those who argue for organic farming say that natural deterrents to pests are far less harmful to the consumer than man-made pesticides. Howwever, "Contrary
to what most people believe, organic does not automatically mean pesticide-free or chemical-free" (About Organic Produce, 2005). Of course, most will argue that the chemicals and pesticides used are natural
ones that are found in nature, such as bugs, and plants and other compounds. The reason that many organic individuals claim we should move away from man-made chemicals is
