that it is the result of a number of influences including social influences from the local community as well as the dynamic process of parenting. This is a transmission model
of culture, where culture is learned from the different influences, which can also include the media and events or values that the individual is exposed to, especially during the formative
years. When considering the way that globalization has take place there is a significant increase in the number of influences that may be felt, the media is only one of
these influences, with culture being exported. In addition to this there is increase global trade, more than ever there is increased availability of goods, include exotic goods that increase the
ability to experience other cultures. Travel has become easier, with fewer barriers, faster and cheaper, this allows for increased exposure. With this there is increased demand for different goods that
can impact on perceptions of life within a community. Goods that were once rare due to seasonality become more common place. The dominant argument for the dilution of
culture is through the spread of western ideals and values though the media as well as through the proliferation of western political models which may undermine the local culture by
supporting conflicting or different values even undermining the nation state by spreading competing values and popularising them though the media and consumerism. However, this may be to undermine the resilience
