and more a part of the human society. In many ways people argue that this is the best thing that could happen for the world for it is bringing the
world closer together, ensuring that many cultures work together for the benefit of their own communities, and that through globalization the world will perhaps ultimately find a peaceful balance that
benefits all. However, on the other hand there are realities involving globalization that seem to point to colonialism. There are those who argue that globalization is nothing more than corporate
and political colonialism. The following paper examines if globalization is really only colonialism under a different name and disguise. The paper argues that globalization is primarily colonialism in many respects.
Is Globalization Colonialism? In examining of globalization is actually colonialism one must perhaps put aside the involvement of globalization between nations like the United States, England, France, and
Germany, and many other relatively wealthy nations in the world. This is because the developed nations already have their nations and cultures firmly established and are only looking to globalization
for furthering their own cultures. In this respect globalization is perhaps something that could be equated with neighbors trading sugar for some eggs. But, globalization also involves many small nations,
many underdeveloped nations that are struggling to simply survive in a corporate world where they feel they need to compete to survive. These are the nations that are likely the
most obviously influenced culturally by globalization and colonialism is essentially affecting culture, not simply doing business. In many respects globalization was something that involved the use of "superior military
