has to potential to have a positive or a negative impact on an organization, as such there is the potential for a strong culture to have a positive impact in
terms of supporting or even creating a competitive advantage (Huczynski and Buchanan, 2007). There is a great deal of evidence that in organizations where there is a strong,
distinctive culture, the culture can help to support the positioning of a firm (Wooldridge and Minsky, 2002). There are many examples of this looking around the commercial environment; The Walt
Disney Company has been very successful in terms of differentiating itself through the level of service it offers in the travel/leisure segments of the business, the culture incorporates the Disney
way of doing things, and service provision, creating and then maintaining a competitive advantage (Kotler and Keller, 2008). The way that the firm creates the outputs will be either directly
or indirectly impacted as a result of the organizational culture. When looking at the way culture impacts on performance, to justify the argument that it can be the source
of competitive advantage the opposite is also true, in firms where there have been fragmented cultures or where there is a culture of conflict between management and employers, with a
poor employee relations records it may be argued there have been some specific disadvantages, as seen within the automotive industry as seen within the automotive industry with companies such as
