This is true regardless of the size of the incident, and is very visible in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon explosion, which occurred at a BP1 oil rig on
the 20th April 2010, which has resulted not only in the deaths of workers, but also a major environmental disaster with oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico, with the
potential to take many years to clear up. However, although it is easy to point the finger at BP, and questions regarding whether or not it was an accident or
misconduct will need to be answered, however, this is not the only issue, one must consider the commercial environment in which it occurred and as if BP is the only
responsible party, or if others should also be helped accountable? The way that the incident is portrayed in the news and the political rhetoric appears to emphasis the role of
BP, however, unlikely many other environmental disaster, such as the Union Carbide disaster in Bhopal, where victims had to fight for years to gain even minimal compensation, many are still
awaiting payment and the environmental effects are still felt, BP has taken responsibly, not only asserting that they will pay for the clean up, but being heavily and activity involved
in the efforts, making immediate payments and taking immediate action. Therefore, when looking at this incident it may be argued that there is no need for discussion on if BP
where to blame, but the issue is whether or not they are solely to blame. There are undoubtedly other influences, which include commercial pressures and issues such as greed
