We can be searched for many different invalid reasons, can be arrested without knowing the reasons, can be accosted by officials for wearing a peace symbol on a T-shirt, and essentially find ourselves as victims of constrictive realities, not freedom. But, incidents such as these are not very common and are often found to be illegal when truly taken to higher authorities. However, at the same time our freedoms have become more restricted in the light of the attacks seen on September 11, 2001. In essence, we are living in a time, and in a country, that is changing, with many arguing these changes are creating a nation that is no longer the land of the free. The following paper argues that despite any restrictions or changes, in comparison with the rest of the world, or most of the world, America is still the land of the free. Arguments One of the most powerful freedoms in America is the freedom of religion. As well established Americans, and new citizens, all people have the right to be any religion they wish. They can worship however they see fit, unless of course someone is being harmed and breaking laws, and they can essentially even allow their child to be refused medicine that would save their lives if they are of a religion that insists on such action. This nation may see many religions which are perhaps ridiculed or attacked in the media, but people are allowed to be any religion they wish to be. It is one of the most powerful freedoms of this nation because it is the most powerful freedom that the nation was founded on.
