they are so popular many people think this is the only theory he offered. Worse, the terms have been misused and at least the term introversion has become associated with
shyness and the term extroversion has been associated with the concept of sociability. A brief comparison of the two typologies explain that introverts usually prefer their own worlds of feelings,
thoughts, dreams and so on while extroverts prefer the external world of people and things (Boeree, 2006). It is true that introverts tend to be reserved and even shy and
extroverts tend to me more talkative and social, that is not the full explanation of these typologies. Jung was using these characteristics in terms of the ego and whether the
individual focuses on the collective unconscious or the outer reality (Boeree, 2006). In his opinion, because introverts were more comfortable with their own inner beings and did not need the
reinforcement of the outer world, the introvert is more mature (Boeree, 2006). Extroverts are motivated by outside influences, they are comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings and they like organizations and external
activities. They tend to be optimistic. Introverts usually have a great deal of imagination, enjoy reflecting on things, such as ideas and they are happy when they are alone (Lander
University, 2009). While each typology has its strengths, they also have their weaknesses. Extroverts need to make a good impression on others, they do not often indulge in self-criticism,
they tend to accept whatever the morals of the day are and they can develop and break relationships easily. Introverts do not have as much confidence as they should have
