The research assesses the link between learning organization characteristics and readiness for change in the Kuwaiti environment, with the aim of providing practical guidance for firms in the country
that wish to increase their readiness for change. The core characteristics associated with learning organizations are assessed as leadership, culture, training and development, continual learning, experimentation, rewards for learning and
communication, the core characteristics associated with readiness for change are leadership, culture, communication, acceptance of change, assessment of the business environment and motivational readiness. Research undertaken using three organization within
the Kuwait logistics industry which have a high level of learning organization characters were examined, using quantitative research to gather the opinions of the employees and qualitative research with structured
interviews gathering data from the senior and middle management. The result indicate that there is a high level of alignment between learning organizations and readiness for change, with the aspects
of leadership, culture and the presence of training and development being found to be the most vital characteristics that are present in learning organization which leads to readiness to change.
