well seasoned in traveling outdoors and has a love of the environment and physical activity in the outdoors. The following paper analyzes the character of Krakauer in his work.
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer As noted in the introduction, this particular work is about a disastrous climb up Mount Everest that took place over 10 years ago.
Many people died during the trek and as such there were many questions and many people who wondered about what had happened. Krakauer was a man sent to write a
story about trekking up Mount Everest and as a journalist he seems to be the best person to actually write about what took place on the trip. One could
perhaps argue that he was too professional to write what really happened but, as a journalist and writer, he was perhaps more observant of others and situations than the average
person would likely be. Whatever the case his story is powerful and intriguing. In many ways Krakauer appears to be nothing more than an average man embarking on this
trip and recording what took place. There is nothing heroic about him and actually there seems to be nothing truly strong about him either. He is simply a man. In
one excerpt the reader can see that he is a man who is perhaps awed by nature and by the physical demands of what he is doing: "But if the
