is given we see that there are personal boundaries that are maintained. These are form many reasons, and may also be seen to be reflected in the policies that
are in place and how confidentiality is required ads a part of this practice. Intimate care has many issues and can be seen to cover a range of procedures. From
bathing and toilet needs and helping with dressing to procedures that require intimate knowledge to provide care. These are all areas where we can argue that there is a scope
for embarrassment on both the part of the patient, or the individual being carted for, as well as for the carer. The ability to maintain a professional barrier is new
that can be seen as reducing this likelihood of embarrassment for those concerned as well as creating an atmosphere of trust. In intimate care there is a need for trust,
otherwise the procedure will be difficult and resisted. If there is not trust this may lead to fear, and it is the profession barrier that gives the confidence in the
carers, so that the person being cared for feels that they are safe, both physically and mentally. When we look at some of
the consideration that also need to be incorporated by caregivers on more than a simply moral or ethical perspective there are legal issues. For example, in Europe, there is the
