The accountant interviewed is Kenneth D. Conner (214 892 5644), a former CPA in Dallas, Texas. The word "former" is included because he chose not to renew
his Texas license several years ago after leaving a position as controller of a professional association. He remained active in the financial field, but focused on corporate activity rather
than on public services. EDUCATION Mr. Conner is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree
in Business Administration and having passed all parts of the CPA exam in a single sitting. TRAINING Prior to graduating from college, Mr.
Conner chose to take a semester off to work. He was working his way through college and believed that a single semester working full time would be beneficial.
He had been in the Naval Reserve for several years at the time, and on news of his not being registered for classes during that semester the Navy promptly called
him for active duty. The time he was called was at the height of the Vietnam war. Assigned to the Navys disbursing office in Norfolk, Mr. Conner later
was assigned to a ship. Its sister ship was in Vietnam and was coming back to the US; Mr. Conners ship was scheduled to take its place but broke
down in Norfolk harbor. The sister ship returned to Vietnam; Mr. Conner began searching for a transfer. He found that transfer and
