Funding sources: The State Board of Community Colleges is required by law to provide funding to meet the needs of the various community colleges in the North Carolina system. Sources of funding include "state, federal and local government" funding, as well as monies from tuition (NCCCS, 2008, p. 9). The funding cycle corresponds to the State of North Carolinas fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 (NCCCS, 2008). Stakeholders: Last year, Edgecombe Community College addressed the educational needs of roughly 9,500 students situated throughout Edgecombe County (About ECC, 2008). The General Education Development (GED) Program is specifically designed for the adult who dropped out of public school before receiving a high school diploma (GED Program, 2008).
