more power than another in the same country due to her position in marriage or other social institutions. The following paper presents a hypothetical interview with a woman named Alice
from Nigeria. The interview will essentially touch on many of the current conditions experienced by many women in Nigeria, but will not be all inclusive regarding all the harsh possibilities,
nor the best possibilities either. Interview: Alice From Nigeria Alice is a woman who is aged 38. She is an only
child and lives rurally. She is married with 3 children and does not work outside the home. She and her husband are Christian, though they are both still strongly influenced
by their Muslim traditions which are as prominent as Christianity in the country of Nigeria. JR: Alice, have you always lived in a rural farm setting? Alice: Yes,
I was born in a very traditional family, a family that still follows many of the old rules. Since I can remember I have worked in the fields and helped
with the crops. JR: Did you ever attend school? Alice: When I was about 8 years old there were these missionaries who came to our little village and they tried
to get a school started. They insisted that the children would do better and grow up smart if they went to school so my mother took me to this school
for two years. I learned a little about reading and writing but most of my time was spent farming so school was not important. The missionary school is still there
