Bullying is one of the more deplorable facets of modern educational environment. Unfortunately, practically all of our schools are plagued with this problem.
While the intensity varies considerably, bullying is something that most of us have experienced either as students ourselves or later in life as we observe our students being bullied.
Unfortunately, as we become calloused with all of the challenges of being an educator, too often we become reluctant to intervene to the degree needed to stamp out bulling.
We justify our passivity on the lack of time or on the red tape that is required to effectively deal with this issue. The reality, however, is that there
is no excuse for our passivity. Bullying has a negative impact on children and, in the long run, on society as a whole.
Unfortunately, even those that want to intervene in instances of bulling dont always know just how to go about doing so. Many people are at a loss as
to how to deal with the problem. Teachers, parents, and children themselves should be educated about bullying, its negative impacts, and ways to go about eliminating it.
Bullies inflict both emotional and physical harm to those that are least prepared to deal with such pain. Their young victims have not matured
