industry demands that investment companies must offer a vast selection of up-to-the-minute products which are coupled with expert advice. Intersect Investment Services has been struggling for the past
four years, but the CEO Frank Jeffers decided a year ago that it was time for innovative, progressive change. To achieve the new vision formulated by Jeffers, the company will
need to undergo revolutionary organizational change, especially in the sales department. Jeffers feels so strong about making these necessary changes that he has replaced the Executive Vice President of
Marketing and Sales, because he did not support the new philosophy. The new EVP of Marketing and Sales, Janet Angelo, has twelve months to move Intersect Investment Services from a
company which has relied on traditional-selling to a company that is more focused on "customer intimacy". Angelo has a history of implementing these changes with other companies, but never in
such a short period of time. CHALLENGES IDENTIFIED The concept of earning the title of "trusted advisor" and improving customer satisfaction will not be easy. Parts of Angelos upper
management team are having trouble focusing on the new ideas. The management team realizes that customer intimacy needs to be a primary value and the strategic focus for the
company. To grow and to sustain the new growth, the company needs to add new customers, retain the existing customers and at the same time increase the amount of
