beyond what is presented, and as such people rarely, if ever, get the real story. People honestly need to question and interrogate what the information they are provided with, or
else they will not really know what is truly going on around them, much less make an effort to change it if need be. Now, sometimes the media itself has
little knowledge of what is honestly taking place behind the scenes of any given situation or event, and as such they cannot necessarily provide any valid information. But, if an
individual really looks beneath the surface of any event or subject, looking at television shows, news programming, talk shows, local newspapers, and even advertisements, they can gain a much more
accurate view of what is going on in society, in the world, and in their own particular region. In addition, by doing so we, as citizens, can better understand and
address the issues that really matter, not necessarily the issues the media says are important. In the following paper we illustrate various conditions which will further an understanding of the
need for interrogation, and how that interrogation is incredibly important today in relationship to gender issues. Gender has always been a subject open for great debate. It seems that
often thousands of years, gender is still an allusive reality for most of us. Today, we live in a world, or at least a society, where we believe that men
and women are equal to most degrees of consideration. For example, there are male and female newscasters, giving us the impression women are just as intellectual as men. But, on
the other hand, we have magazines, such as Redbook, which presents us with a survey demonstrating who women will vote for in the Presidential race, based on the candidates looks
