will not only become familiar with the workings of a business, but gain confidence in the work environment. This gives the intern a slight advantage over their peers who, after
graduation, will need time to develop this confidence on the job, not to mention how good an internship will appear on a resume.
The student may want to then move immediately to the actual experience, such as the following. I interned with my uncle (Dave) at Daves Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning under the
title of Human Resources Assistant. This arrangement was made for the specific purpose of learning about business relationships and working in the business environment.
It might be helpful to state something similar to: My initial duties were primarily payroll and other paperwork related to long-term employees. After a time, I was to
work with Dave in hiring if the need arose, which would include placing the ad, setting appointments, conducting interviews and filling out the internal and government paperwork necessary to the
hiring process. However, this need never arose. Some of my quantifiable tasks were to observe and work with employee issues like employee
