like the following: My internship with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest County was extremely rewarding in a variety of ways. First and foremost, I had the satisfaction of
knowing that I was contributing to an extremely worthwhile program. In communities all over the country, children and young people are left on their own while parents work, with no
adult supervision or care (Who we are). By providing programs and services, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America are able to promote a "sense of competence, usefulness (and) belonging"
in countless numbers of American youth, and, in so doing, influence their development in beneficial ways (Who we are). As an intern, I was able to work on budget
preparation for various programs, as well as control and management aspects of running these programs. At the Boys and Girls Clubs, there are a variety of programs that must be
supervised, which include everything from homework help, such as "Power Hour," to programs that are environmentally oriented, such as "Ultimate Journey" (Programs). In addition to these duties, I worked directly
with young people on several programs, which included contact with their parents. In so doing, I assisted in the personal development of these young people by providing guidance, helping to
