Internet, but it is a big part. The following discussion, first of all, surveys the types of advertising that is currently available on the Web and then offers analysis.
Banner ads One of the most prevalent types of ads seen on the Web are banner ads. The perception of this writer is that banner ads, and particularly those that
are designed to grab the computer users attention through animation, are extremely annoying. Often, I will copy the article and read it offline simply to avoid an irritating graphic that
keeps flashing for my attention. The Web appears to be full of ads that vibrate, jiggle or flash in order to make the eye turn toward them. They are extremely
irritating and do not strike this writer/tutor as being very effective. Sponsorships Frequently, an advertiser will sponsor a site, which permits the ads message to be integrated into the site
in a manner that is much less obtrusive than appearing as a banner at the top of the page (Morris, 1999). When these ads pertain to the subject being addressed
on the page, it seems to me that they could be very effective. For example, being diabetic, I accessed an informational page on diabetes. A sponsor of this page
sells diabetic tools, such a energy bars and drinks, as well as creams designed for diabetics to take better care of their skin, as dry skin is a frequent symptom
