THE GLOBAL ECONOMY The world economy began to undergo changes over thirty years ago with the resurgence of European economies. With the decolonization of some nations American corporations began looking for opportunities abroad. As this trend grew in intensity, there was seen an outward flow of United States investments. Along with this flow, hopefully, the U.S. will gain some control over its investments in order to better control its market economy in the next few years (Lopez 1995). The impact of globalization on the distribution of wealth within the United States is a timely subject and one that has been brought up constantly over the years. In light of the escalating global economy we have seen the impact of it and sometimes its member nations lose control of the reins. The liberalist perspective on this matter is a strong one in that it would seem rational minds could control the situation for the common good (Kleisen 1993). DISTRIBUTION OF POVERTY, POLLUTION AND RESOURCES There should be a distribution of wealth among the developed as well as the undeveloped countries which would mean passing over national boundaries and taking in the financial outcome of countries both domestic and foreign. Looking at the political economy from a liberalist point of view it is necessary to evaluate the changes impacting globalization.
