In fact, technology has enhanced the way many colleges and universities seek out prospective students. This research study will assess the current literature in regards to the utility of a technology-based interface between colleges/universities and prospective students. This study will integrate a narrative assessment of the current literature in a qualitative format to define the trends in information technology and the impacts for students seeking recruitment opportunities through major colleges and universities. This study will also consider the impacts of the use of IT for foreign recruitment, as well as for the recruitment of students who do not have access to computer-based information technology. Introduction It has been argued that technological change will influence almost every aspect of daily life in as short as two decades. "Over time, it is expected that information and communication technologies (ICTs) will change the whole pattern of peoples lives, as completely as broadcasting, telephony, and high-speed transport did in the past" (Closing the Digital Divide 1). This perspective is linked to the assessment of the force of technology outlined by Chandler (1995), who views technological change as a part of a fundamental progression. The use of computer technologies is at the heart of educational changes at the university level in recent years and is based on the focus towards emerging technologies and the expectation that these technologies will inherently benefit society as a whole. As a result, theorists have integrated technological change as a major component of techniques and strategies that influence educational design in recent years, and have supported substantial change at many colleges and universities (West and Turner, 2003).
