celebration of Easter, or Pascha, meaning Big Sunday. For Christians Easter celebrates the central event in human salvation. It is the highest and the oldest of Church feasts.1
The celebration begins with Easter Sunday and continues for seven weeks, during which time Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ by the power of God, His Father. The
50th day after Easter is Sunday, the Pentecost and this ends the Easter season. On Pentecost, Christians celebrate Gods gift of the Spirit, which refers to the breath and the
"unseeness" of God.2 There is an inseparable relationship between the cross and resurrection in Christianity that declares the unity of this cycle of Easter. Forty days of Lent are
honored prior to Easter; this is a reminder of the cost of the victory of the cross. Pentecost ends the period and this day is intended to remind Christians of
the Spirit-Gods gift to us, a gift that empowers Christians to be witnesses to the crucified and resurrected Christ. The gift of this Spirit draws Christians together as a people
