Testing for intelligence has occasionally proven to be a tricky undertaking however. Much of the controversy stems from the fact that there are competing theories about what intelligence actually is, and consequently, how best to measure it. Accordingly, hundreds of intelligence measuring instruments have been created, each utilizing a different approach or methodology. This paper presents an overview of one popular intelligence test, as well as a popular "achievement" or "performance" test, and assesses how the two compare in practical terms.
