Most people are familiar with the Internet. They use it in their daily lives for work and for entertainment. And while they hammer away at their keyboards
they rarely stop to think that the Internet has been a significant force in changing how the working world works. It also has an impact on the global economy, so
much so that things have changed irrevocably, and while it has enhanced trading relationships, the Internet has caused problems too. With the ease of transference of
data, questions arise. Copyright infringements, software piracy and things of that nature now are held to the standards of international law. Business owners cannot just duke it out in U.S.
courts if the culprits are from a foreign domain. First, it is important to understand the magnitude of the change and how the Internet has changed the nature of the
global economy forever. Three significant trends are have been responsible in the reshaping of the global economy ("Impediments" PG). One is the exponential growth in respect
to Internet connectivity and other trends include the convergence of content, interactivity, computer applications and communications networks (PG). Another trend still is the increasing use of electronic commerce as
a channel for conducting international business (PG). In recent times, it has been estimated that at least 300 million people around the world are online and
