of the military. The following paper examines the quality of integrity. Integrity Unlike such qualities as honesty and punctuality, or loyalty and respectfulness, the notion of integrity is
somewhat vague in definition as well as complex. Integrity is, in many ways, a quality that involves many different attributes or qualities. Integrity primarily stands for adhering to a particular
code, and proving honorable and righteous in doing so. Integrity clearly involves the notion of honesty for one with integrity is one who can be trusted, one who can
be believed, and one who can be counted on when needed. A person with integrity is true to their word, and a person with integrity is a person that others
can count on in many situations. One could say they are selfless and responsible. It could also be said that a person with integrity is a person who would not
tell the secrets of another, or act in a disrespectful manner. In essence, having integrity means one possesses many powerful and good traits. The above discussion of the traits
of integrity illustrates characteristics that are all but required in the military. A military individual is expected to put themselves on the line, to think of the greater goal, rather
than themselves, and to present the most positive and strong traits known to humanity. While realistically a military individual is only one person, they are representing the country and a
people, they may be one individual but they are considered to be a part of a greater whole and as such they must act accordingly to that greater whole.
