remain asleep for an adequate period of time. Therefore, people who suffer from insomnia dont feel well-rested or refreshed, and often have a variety of other consequences as a
result of not getting enough sleep. Notice how this topic is introduced in a general way and then becomes more specific as
the paper proceeds. It is important to present generalized information first and to use sources to back-up all specific information: It is not unusual for people to have
some difficulty sleeping sometimes, but when that difficulty becomes chronic and persistent, the cause is typically insomnia. Insomnia is characterized by having difficulty falling asleep, waking up too often
during the night, waking up too early in the morning, and experiencing sleep that is not refreshing (Insomnia, 2004). When this occurs, the problems that insomnia can cause are
