Dr. Blackwell has been named "Outstanding Marketing Educator in America by Sales and Marketing Executives International and Marketer of the Year by the American Marketing Association. He also received the Alumni Distinguished Teaching Award, the highest award given by The Ohio State University" (Ohio State Professor Convicted of Insider Trading, 2005). In June 2005, the leading marketing professor with 30 years with Ohio State University was convicted on 14 counts of insider trading (Berner and Beucke, 2005). Blackwell will be sentenced later in 2005; he remains free until sentencing on the basis of a $1 million cash bond (Ohio State Professor Convicted of Insider Trading, 2005). 2. The original indictment listed nine charges against either or both defendants in the case, Martha Stewart and her broker Peter Bacanovic.
