In other words, innovation is not something that simply comes quickly like a spark of inspiration. Innovation is equated with work just as much as it is equated with thinking.
Thus, it is not enough to simply have a brilliant thought to be considered innovative. Innovation is often equated with either large
or small changes, and may be thought of as a series of alterations over time (Urabe, Child, Kagono & Gakka, 1988). Apple is a company that is innovative. It all
began with personal computers years ago, but they campaigned on the idea that thinking different is good. They developed various products where copying was never quite good enough. Apple is
innovative because their brand is something that is innovative. People know that if Apple develops a product, it will be a good one. Authors also talk about different kinds
of innovation such as incremental innovation, process innovation, and radical product innovation (Urabe, Child, Kagono & Gakka, 1988). While innovation seems to be
a rather easy concept to define despite its complications and implications, the term design is much more difficult. Margolin & Buchanan (1996) admit that anyone who has studied design
realizes that providing a satisfactory definition is somewhat risky. One has to know whether or not the design in question is related to a process, an idea, a project, a
