can be brought together with information accessed and utilised as needed (McNurlin and Sprague, 2003). In terms of operations there can be the division of the information into two types
of data, although there are crossovers between them. The first aspect of data is that relating to the passenger, with information such as name and potential details, payment details. It
may be argued that the need to collect these is of increasing importance following the events of September 11th 2001 and subsequently increased security (Travel Trade Gazette UK & Ireland,
2003). Along with the personal details of the passengers, which may be needed by the destinations, (Travel Trade Gazette UK & Ireland, 2003), there is also the need to associate
this with the flight details that they are catching, There may also need to be details regarding the types if ticket purchased, with different ticket types having different terms and
conditions, as well as the information regarding where the customer bought the ticket. The data requirements for the second type of data
are more complex, these are the departures information, which includes details of the fights, not only their destination, but also timings of departure and arrival, aircraft types and seating arrangements,
so that special arrangements may be made and an ability to tie these requirements in with general staffing and maintenance. For example, when a flight lands at its destination, before
