steps of analysis in a qualitative study are: defining the analysis, classifying the data, and making connections, all of which lead to the drawing and presentation of conclusions.
The study of elementary school principals and their influence on school reading and student reading scores conducted by Mackey, Pitcher & Decman (2006) demonstrates the presentation of data in a
manner that relates to the principles outlined by Baptiste. The first step in Baptistes process is the defining of the analysis, which Mackey, Pitcher and Decman do in two
essential parts; they relate the research directive through the existing literature and the comparative elements presented, and subsequently define their data presentation as "composite profiles" of the elementary school principals
which can be compared. The data analysis relates to the correspondence between the principles "type," each of which is clearly defined, and the National Association of Elementary and Secondary
Principals (NAESP) goals for reading development, and the subsequent scores that each school has demonstrated on the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS) reading section. The second component
of Baptistes analysis is the classification of data. Baptiste maintained the importance of a clear view of how data will be classified and what elements will be presented as
