Inc. , July 2010 properly! Water Resource Problem Water is a resource for which there are no
substitutes. That makes is the most important natural resource in the world. Nothing can exist without water. Yet, people do little to protect the water that we do have. We
seem to think there is an unending supply of this resource and there isnt. The University of Huddersfield (2010) remind the reader that we use water for drinking, other domestic
and public activities, livestock, irrigation, for energy through hydropower, recreation, for aesthetics, e.g., fountains, and for navigation. There are no substitutes for any of these activities and uses. Water is
a mainstay in businesses. This university wrote that the largest water resource problem is found in industry. Five industries use more than two-thirds of all water used in industry. These
industries are: chemical production, metal processing, pulp and paper production, food processing, and petroleum refining (University of Huddersfield, 2010). Water itself does not increase production costs, which is why retrieving
it is not a high priority in these businesses. As more water is used, more waste is generated and unless the water is treated quickly, it will not be able
to be used for anything else. Industrial wastewater creates pollution and that causes an array of serious environmental problems. Consider the fact that water used in cooling processes becomes hot
itself. When it is released from the plant, it enters the environment hot. If the water is hot when it goes into the waste system or a river, the hot
