settings tend to make decisions based on what they already know, on the patterns of experience and knowledge that are common and familiar (Lopez, 1991). As organizations increase in
cultural, social and structural diversity, many individuals need new information in order to effectively communicate in diverse communities, organizations, workplaces and societies (Lopez, 1991). Lopez (1991) has even
gone as far as to argue that diversity in the organization inherently changes the group process, and as a result, necessitates to pursuit of varied approaches to understanding different perspectives
and addressing different ways of problem solving, different visions and different expectations. Cyert and March (1992) in Chapter 7 of A Behavioral Theory of the Firm, argue that
there are some distinct concepts relative to behavioral theory that influence decision-making and interactions in a firm. Organizational settings are inherently influenced by group process, leadership, group intent, mediating
interactions and the structure of communications. Social theorists have recognized that there are a number of distinct types of variables that impact effective group process. These variables can
