more complex when the process escalates to involve groups rather than individuals. As the efficacy of individual and group decisions obviously has a great deal of bearing on the success
of organizations, managers tend to debate which of the two approaches has the most merit. In reality, both individual decision making and group decision making have their own unique virtues,
and each one has ideal conditions in which it is the best strategy to employ. This paper will shed light upon the similarities between the individual and group making decision
processes, as well as the differences, and also comment upon how decision making patterns shift as one moves from one decision making dynamic to the other. This paragraph helps the
student provide an assessment of how individual and group decision making processes are analogous to one another. While they are fundamentally very different processes, individual and group decision making do
share some profound similarities as well. The two processes are in fact analogous to one another in that they both use the same judgmental framework of identifying options, judging and
weighing them, narrowing them down, and ultimately choosing one. At the individual level, this might consist of scratching out some pros and cons on a legal pad. At the organizational
level, the pro and con list is replaced by a multi-person committee which serves the same person: generating as many perspectives on the issue at hand as possible to ensure
