times, the problem is physical. Occasionally, fallopian tubes are blocked, a condition that does not allow the egg to pass to the appropriate place to become a viable zygote.
Other times, the male sperm count is too low to see conception happen easily. For many couples who cannot conceive naturally, in vitro fertilization is something that is often introduced.
In vitro fertilization is a technique that has met at least the minimum safety and efficacy standards (Grobstein, Flower & Mendeloff, 1983). In vitro fertilization is something that has become
available and is a valid approach for couples to overcome infertility (Grobstein, Flower & Mendeloff, 1983). There are many ethical, legal and social implications in respect to the technique, particualrly
when embryo transfers to third parties are invovled (Grobstein, Flower & Mendeloff, 1983). Indeed, since the inception of this controversial technique, many issues have been raised. Some older women have
conceived babies with the use of in vitro fertilizaiton. Not only had this raised eyebrows but ethical questions in terms of tampering with nature have cropped up. Is a 60
year old woman too old to raise children? Is it ethical for a woman to carry her own grandchildren to term? Other ethical dilemmas include surrogate parenting as well as
