mean that humans have the same nature as God? It does not mean either of these things. The issue is the word image and how humans interpret the word. Humans
tend to be self-centered and they tend to anthropomorphize everything and they have done the same thing when interpreting these verses. Rev. Angus Stewart (n.d.) explained that because of
this statement humans tend to perceive God with a body and limbs, in other words, He looks like us. Different religions have attached different meanings to the concept of Imago
Dei (Stewart, n.d.). Some religions say that with the fall of Adam and Eve, humans lost the image of God altogether (Steward, n.d.). Some theologians preach the idea that it
is ones soul that is in the image of God while others emphasize that the human spirit is such that allows man to have a relationship with God as well
as with other people (Stewart, n.d.). As this author points out, churches, theologians and others use imago Dei in whatever way seems to suit their message (Stewart, n.d.). He also
states that the anthropomorphites commit a grave error because Jesus Himself said that God is a spirit and mans body cannot possibly be anything like God (Stewart, n.d.). Paul told
the Ephesians they were to "be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and
