are arguments both for and against abortion, not only in whether it should be allowed but also in degrees that it should or should not be practiced. The purpose
here is to briefly review these general positions to conclude that abortion should be legal and accessible, and be the result of the mothers choice not to carry a pregnancy
to term. General Views Pro-life proponents generally believe that abortion is the equivalent of murder, that no one has the right to terminate
a life that has begun. This faction may or may not approve of abortion in cases of rape or danger to the mothers health.
Pro-choice adherents believe that abortion should be accessible to anyone wishing to take advantage of its availability. Some believe that abortion is fine in any and every
circumstance, but many who support the notion of the mothers right to choose still do not approve of using abortion as a method of birth control.
Ethical views are mixed. If abortion is murder, then our society is walking the wrong path. If, as the Jews (officially pro-choice) believe, life begins
at the moment of birth, then there is no ethical dilemma with abortion. The ethics of the matter come down to a definition, which is when life begins: at
