a very difficult time learning to read or improving their reading skills. The difficulty may be due to a learning disability as it relates to reading or it may be
just an inability to access and use information properly in terms of traditional learning methods. We all understand that everyone learns differently to some degree, and often this can
be a considerable roadblock when it comes to learning how to read. As a result of this reality many schools have tried various methods of approach, from phonics to sight
reading, trying to instill reading knowledge in students. These methods have not always proved successful either. As such it seems incredibly relevant that we use any and all means possible
to teach students to read and to improve their reading skills, while also making reading a subject that is exciting, rather than stressful. One of the most powerful tools to
come along in those regards is the computer. Through the computer many children are finding reading a positive reality that does not allude them. Reading skills are improved, and the
world of words becomes a promising world, rather than a world that spells struggle. In the following paper we examine how computers in the classroom are beneficial to improving reading
skills. The paper also provides a brief section which discusses two particular reading programs that have proved successful. Reading and Computers in the Classroom As mentioned, any tool
that proves helpful in improving a childs reading ability, and also instills them with an excitement concerning reading should be welcomed with open arms. And, in many schools this is
