different health needs, helping to provide care for individuals in their own home, including those who have recently been a hospital inpatient and do not have sufficient home care. The
agency provides a service with health visitors and nurses that ravel to the homes of patients, which fit a wide demographic profile. The aim of the organization is to empower
patients ability to return home, and support high quality healthcare working with other agencies and organizations2. Hand washing in this environment is as important as in a hospital, but
is not as habitual due to the constant changing environment. The staff moving between patients have the potential to pick up bacteria and viruses from previous patients as well as
from the external environment on the journey between patients, increasing the potential contaminants. The lack of a regular environment and different pressures that are present, as well as different facilities
has the potential to lead to lax hand washing procedures which can have significant health impacts for the patients as well as the staff themselves. The pressures include limited time
with each patient and pressure to deal with a large patient load due to limited resources, so time saving is an issue in the way that treatment is provided. With
this pressure, and patients that are often stressed with many divergent concerns there are further potential distractions which may impact on hand washing practices. Other influences may be the hand
