Information technology can make that process easier and more productive. Hall and Suh (2004) commented that "For any organization seeking to achieve high performance, the role of information technology has
never been more vital." The tools of technology become more advanced every day, including their ability to analyze information. These advances give companies the opportunity to create value for the
company (Hall and Suh, 2004). To gain the most advantage from information technology, there must be a clear plan that begins by assessing the companys information technology practices
(Hall and Suh, 2004). If a company has not done such an assessment in a while, they will most likely find numerous aspects that need to be modified and even
software and hardware that needs to be upgraded. The system must go beyond the enterprise resource systems (ERP) that companies use to store and manage their own knowledge and information
(Hall and Suh, 2004). The information technology system needs to have the capability of accessing information from other sources, including external data banks (Hall and Suh, 2004). The system
must be fast (Hall and Suh, 2004). In todays market, information changes quickly and business is conducted across the world in seconds (Hall and Suh, 2004). Companies that have multiple
sites must have up-to-day information available for all their sites quickly (Hall and Suh, 2004). In fact, they need to have the capacity for real time transfer of information (Hall
and Suh, 2004). Decision-makers will then have the information they need to make business decisions that increase the companys revenues (Hall and Suh, 2004). The value of streamlined
