desire to see the business grow appears to be the motivation behind decision to buy a computer and to put the accounting programme Sage onto the computer. There are several
issues that need to be analysed when looking at the scenario. The company is in a position were there are 826 regular customers, however, not all will order each month.
The 8 staff deal with an average of 250 orders each month. These take place though three main channels of distribution, retail customers though the shop that is staff by
two employees, large orders that are given a discount, and orders that are placed through the catalogue. The systems in place are paper based, with the two admin staff able
to cope with the though put. The current systems appears to be working and there is little problem with the situation as it stands. Jack Binder, the manager wants the
business to grow. IN looking at the potential it has been decided that the best route real for growth is the catalogue sales. The retail sales and the bulk sales
are expected to remain stable, with growth at less than five percent. This would indicate that there was no short term need for a fast move as the company was
able to cope. The desire to grow the catalogue sales has meant that Binder has put into place a series of advertisements that will all hit different magazines and therefore
the target market all at the same time This may be seen as seeking to give an initial strong impact to gain initial interest, which will then be supported with
